Update During CV19

OK, so It's been a while. Since my last post, I've partnered with a great California based company called IdeaPros. It is a Business/Idea development company lead by some great people. I pitched my idea and interviewed with them. They liked the idea and now I've partnered with them to develop, build, and market a great app. They have also partnered with some 200+ other inventors/entrepreneurs to create a wide variety of new products and apps.

Currently, they are in the middle stages of the app development and I am working on the curriculum beyond basic math and working to get the word out there.

I'm visiting a lot of social media places that connect to people who might be interested in this type of project.

At the same time, I've been Teaching my normal students online

Blogs that are educational Articles

As a service and to draw interest, I'm going to start writing educational articles in my blogs. I would like people to know that I am really all about education and enjoy teaching. So far it seems like I've been talking to a wall. I write and create and no one out there is listening. Either I just haven't been able to get it in front of the people or no one really cares. I know that it's a great idea and will be a great app but does anyone else know that?

3SG Kickstarter Canceled

I canceled our 3 Second Genius campaign and there are several reasons why. First of all, I haven't gotten the responses necessary to make a successful run and at this point, reaching the goal would be unlikely. I have google ads ready to run in the event I wanted to go that direction. However, I found and contacted a California company called IdeaPros. I pitched my idea to them and they like it.

It's been a while since I've posted but my project is still moving forward. Ideapros has been working and doing their part. They have been working on doing surveys and all the Pre-work that is needed to help make a company successful before it even launches.

While they do this, it takes about a year from this point, I will be gathering a following by providing free pages, ebooks and other information that helps those that would like to purchase this product. I will be collecting emails and sending email updates about this product.

Getting the word out is tough

I've been trying to get the word out so people can see what I'm doing and have the opportunity to help and boy it is tough because of email filters and all that stuff that blocks my work. I'm not trying to scam anyone, just get the word out so I can make this project go and help a lot of people.

Just today, for example, I was talking to a student that told me in a very honest and sincere way that she hates math. I happen to know because I'm her teacher that she does not have her basic facts memorized and it takes her a while to pull them up and what she does get is wrong about half the time. Because she struggles in her facts, it takes so long, and she gets it wrong so often she has an honest dislike for the subject. Who wouldn't? She then just gives up and really just stops trying. It's a downward spiral. I asked her, "If you knew your facts by heart, how would your life be different?" She responded, "I probably wouldn't hate math and if I was actually good at something I'd probably feel better about myself."

This is not an isolated incident.
This nation and the world need this app. They just don't know about it yet.

Please help me get the word out.

Today I received an email from a crowdfunding PR agency called Space. I've reached out to them on email to gather more info to see if they might be helpful at the right price. We'll see what happens. I think that there is a great story here that could be newsworthy that could catch fire.

Catch you later,
Jim Werner

Never Expected That

Today I Sent out my first emails announcing my project. First I tried to send it to the whole district. It came back undeliverable because I would have to be on a special list to do so. I asked our Administrative Assistant about it and she suggested that I send it to smaller units like elementary, middle school, and High School. I did so and it sent that time.

A couple of people responded and a few coworkers donated. Some people were not sure if it was a phishing email. When I got home I received a call from my principal saying that he had been contacted by someone from the district saying that I may have violated an email policy and asked me to shut it all down. I don't feel that doing that totally is a wise idea but I did disable the links to the Surveys and PayPal. I hadn't activated Kickstarter yet.

I'm now more nervous about starting up Kickstarter since I only get 45 days and its got a rough start. I will be meeting with my principal and talking to the district person over the phone tomorrow morning. Tonight I spent most of my time typing up my perspective about the possible violations. If it's not one thing it's another.

In my response, I explained again that all money donated to this cause will be used for this cause and nothing else. Whereas others are donating money, I'm donating hundreds of hours of time to make this work and now I'm having to spend my time worrying about and respond to this.

Well, another day.

Kickstarter is interesting

Ok, new update.
5/2/19
This is really A LOT OF WORK. I spend many evenings working away on details, videos, audio and yes even this blog that I only get to once and a while. I put together a video for the Kickstarter and uploaded it or at least thought I had and then hit the button that said submit. Well, I guess that was a bit of a mistake. It turns out that the video hadn't uploaded, and my proposal was obviously missing things that needed to be there so it came back immediately as rejected. The page explained that I could make changes and resubmit it just once. I've done that now and am now awaiting their response in 2-3 days. Nerve racking? you bet.

I've already started building the project on Indiegogo in case it doesn't pass but I'm holding off a little in hopes that Kickstarter accepts they resubmitted project.

5/3/19
YAHOO!!!! Kickstarter approved my project! Wow, the internal drama and stress of this project is amazing, talk about a roller coaster ride!

Update

Ok, so I'm still trying to get this posting thing down and its been a while. Since the last time, I have been in contact with Techahead and they have quoted me a price and I have been working in the video for Kickstarter and working on that. I finished the video and showed it to my brothers and family. They had some good criticisms about the video that I should fix and they know a guy that does video production for a job. I had him look at it and he said it wasn't bad and was actually good enough for a Kickstarter video. Yet he would have liked the voice over to be a bit cleaner. So I'm going to work on that and add in a little bit more info suggested by my family, I might re-record parts with me in it so I don't look so stressed and the beginning doesn't look so freaky. The picture above right is what I'm talking about. The hardest part about posting this stuff is that I know that no one is reading this yet.
