Starting My Business Plan

Starting My Business Plan

Getting Started
So, I've started working on my business plan. I've looked up a bunch of samples and examples. At this point, I'm filling in one that I downloaded into Word from Bplan.com. I haven't spent the money yet to do their paid version but eventually, I probably will. So far it has been going well. The more I write and explain what I want this business to do the more excited I get. Now I've gotten to the part where I need to start putting in numbers. This is the part where I'm stumped. Where do I get the data to put in numbers that really make sense and tell a story? I think that my next step is to get some quotes from several (3-5) app and website developers. At least then I will have a target amount of money to raise to start the building.
Making Learning Real
In my classroom, I moved my 6th graders into new teams and instead of having them choose team names like normal I had them choose company names, make a log and choose a type of business that they would be, then they were to write a Mission Statement and Vision Statement. So, of course, I had to share what mine would be for my company.
My Vision Statement.
A vision statement is to where we want to be or be doing in the future. Strangely enough, I think that I do some of my best thinking while teaching. here is what I came up with: "Ditson Intellectual Training will be the world leader in teaching pertinent and factual information to students of all ages around the world while creating more intelligent, confident, and healthier citizens for a brighter future." Or in a shorter format, "DitsonIT will grow a smarter future."
My Mission Statement
A mission statement explains how we make the vision statement happen. It's the purpose we serve, it's the function, and a description of the organization. Its a roadmap for the vision statement and clarifies the what, who and why the company exists. Our mission is to use technology to teach people in the 21st century the information they need to be successful in life while improving brain function and building social interactions. We will continue to study and do research to help us know how to best transfer information and sound reasoning to the human population allowing them to be successful in ways that bring the most joy, happiness, and contentment to the most people.
To accomplish this we will develop technologies and programs that will be catered to the individual person and be able to provide to them what they need, how they need it and when they need it. We will use technology to rebuild and strengthen the mind rather than replace it while giving the people what they want and need so they will truly enjoy the learning process.
I Love This Statement
"Sell them what they want and give them what they need." This is the essence of how I want all of my businesses to run.
